This year EmmsTech had the opportunity to attend Hack for Sweden as both event partners and with an amazing team that took part in the hackathon!
At the partner track, we took the chance to invite two other organisations that has the same aim as we. On Thursday Geisy Domiciano came to represent Vue Vixen, an initiative that creates and hosts workshops to teach Vue.js to under-represented people in a cool and fun way. The goal of the program is to familiarize women and those who identify as such with Vue.js in a supportive and inclusive environment.
On Friday Nora Bavey and Heaven Bereket represented their company Unitech which aims to democratize technology and enable people in marginalised groups to succeed.
For the hackathon we had an amazing group of women of colour with different backgrounds competing for us; Somit Fessehazion, Anitha Kathirvel, Carmen Beltran, Shreya Salian, and Nadia Raage. Their solution is called Micro.
Micro is a platform that aims to promote microeconomy and micro entrepreneurship and enable them to start their own or get a job by the skills that they can showcase.
We're so proud of our incredible team that came up with such an amazing solution, and then came top 3 in the Labour Market category!
